This unique new extractor system moves in close to the grill or saucepan to extract cooking vapours directly at source and expel them to the outside. The extendable pivoting arm has two variable settings, one for grilling and one for saucepans, and can also be adjusted manually to any desired height between these settings. Grilling and deep frying generate considerably more steam, smoke and odours than other cooking methods and consequently bring out the very best in Gaggenau's VL 051 direct extractor system. Installed with, say, a glass-ceramic hob and electric grill or deep fryer, its positioning flexibility helps it keep the air clear in the kinds of conditions that often overwhelm conventional ventilation systems. The extractor arm retracts into the hob automatically after use and includes a sensor to prevent it trapping anything as it moves. Impressive in action, the direct extractor system scores points for ease of cleaning too: when the saturation indicator lights, put the grease filter in the dishwasher – what could be simpler?
